Competition design draft

This is a draft of the T shirt design I have so far.  As their requirements were only to have a design in black and white I wanted to create something that could be worn by both male and females.  This is the word "Love" writes in cursive overlapped with the traditional Chinese character love.  I am still trying to find a way to create the design to be more interesting where the two different languages over lap.  If you have any suggestions please let me know ! thanks 

Story Board Racism

This is a story board for a target audience of children about racism as well as social discrimination.  I highly believe that this is a social problem that has been with us for years and is still very much on going problem.  I figure that adults now can make their own decisions based on life experiences and their own judgement, however, children's minds are like a blank canvas which can be created.  Education children early of the social problems in story books and electronic games and such are in my opinion the best way to teach them of equality and acceptance of everyone for their differences.

Sketches of Flash project

So sorry for the late post, I thought it got posted but I just realized that it didn't get posted ! My internet in China with it's VPN has been going crazy lately.  This project is based on the global issue of racism, which is a problem for both children and adults, however, my target audience is children.  I am using animals as an example instead of people.  My theory behind this design is the more different animals get along the environment (background image as the sound, tree, flowers) are happy at the same time.  My hidden message is the less racism in this world, the happier the surrounding and quality of life become.

I obviously have never done a web page before but I think I am starting to get a hang of some of the tools. This is based on my business that I just started on the side for students who are passionate about learning and being creative.

I have art classes that I teach once in a while, so I figure this would be a great way to start thinking of a website for my business if in the future I decide to continue teaching.  Right now I am teaching as a side gig just because I love working with kids and seeing their creativeness flow.  The lay out is in the opposite order but thats the basics of my outline.

Spread page

I have done a lot of research on Art Deco era and found it quite interesting. I'm still getting used to learning how to use illustrator.

Cover Page

I have yet to finish the spread page, I will post it tomorrow.  This is my first time working with Adobe Illustrator and I found it very difficult for some reason.  But I was able to portray a rough image of what I had in mind.  This is the Shanghai skyline, and I used blue and orange because they are complimentary colors which usually catch one's eyes.  I hope you all like it.

Digital Arts Cover & Layout Sketchs

I am still in the process of understanding how layouts are formed and what ways visually would be more pleasing to the eye of the audience.  I have been doing some more online research on Art Deco and where it originated and how its difference in comparison to pop art, and the rest of the modern art.  On the cover page is a sketch of the Shanghai, China skyline that I want to create digitally.

Artistic statement

When it comes to digital art I enjoy creating prints and posters that relate to a social problem that we have occurring in our world today.  These prints include physical abuse (parents/significant other), drug abuse, and racism/ bullying.  I think that I am passionate about these topics due to either personal experience or loosing someone close to me through a few of these topics.  These in my opinion are topics that relate to self-identity, self-esteem/ lack of self-esteem, confidence, and acceptance.  At times I feel as though I am too close to my artwork and maybe using art as an escape or portraying my emotions through my work. 

My specialty when it comes to art is painting with acrylic.  This medium gives me full control of what I want to portray and I can alter the texture with much control.  Though I have yet to learn how to use illustrator and barely touched base on Photoshop, I feel as though if I could get better grasp of how to use them I would be able to impact my audience stronger with my pieces of work.  I believe that my style is very straightforward and realistic.  I avoid images such as aliens, vampires, and zombies.  Though I have just said I have a realistic style to my work I also think that I enjoy expressing emotions and feelings that are intangible through surrealistic images.  I think looking back at my artwork, I maybe venting all the problems I have experienced in my life through my pieces both unconsciously and consciously. 

If I were to describe some of my work in words they would be emotional, strong, straightforward and mysterious.  Reading this one may think I am a dark person, however, as a person I am a very outgoing, positive, cultured, social and happy individual.  I enjoy creating art that is influential positively, motivational and creatively interesting.
